Rosslyn Hill Chapel is a venerable London institution when it comes to hosting a wide variety of concerts and is also a leading venue for recording sessions, at least in part because of the fine Steinway model D concert-grand piano they acquired some years ago.

Recently, however this piano has been showing signs of needing overhaul, and Chruch funds simply do not run to this expense.

Rather than allow this valuable facility to continue to decline, a group of concerned performers decided to get together to raise funds for the restoration of the Steinway, and so the ‘Rosslyn Hill Chapel Steinway Appeal” Concert series was born.

A distinguished roster of artists have agreed to donate their services for a series of five Friday concerts running monthly from late March to late September, (with a Sunday afternoon family concert in July) presenting music from 1720 to 2009, on, guitar, viola, harpsichord, fortepiano, modern grand piano (including hearing the Steinway after its restoration!)

It will also provide the London debut venue for the newly arrived Wendl & Lung 218 half-concert grand piano, a highly praised instrument from the celebrated Viennese maker whose instruments are creating such a stir in the piano world at present.
